You can call him Al...

 

He has been lucky enough to play with cameras his whole life. Well from about 8 years old.

After leaving high school with a plan to study architecture, his mum told him about film school. He thought those were only in the US... anyway, off to film school in Edinburgh Al went. Thanks mum.

​

Graduating in 2009, he immediately moved to London, working as a runner and camera trainee. He also had a stint working in-house at the illustrious Academy Films.

 

He climbed the ladder up through the camera department: loading, focus pulling, camera-operating and DITing on everything from low budget charity jobs to major motion pictures and commercials; learning from some of the best cinematographers and directors out there. He has since levelled up to being a cinematographer, photographer and occasionally directs too.

Having recently moved to Melbourne, Al is hoping to shoot some epic Australian stories.
